This animation was a personal response to an Aboriginal story. The concept is based off Chinese traditions of tea sharing, where family comes together to drink tea and share stories. The animation uses simple line work illustrations and fluid motion to convey a sense of gentleness, serenity and feelings of comfort that are associated with the calming nature of tea.
The Process
These motion tests gave me an idea of what was possible, in terms of my animating skills. They also helped to test different scenes and experiment with stroke widths, illustration style, motion effects, timing and typography.
