Dynamic Digital Ads

BRIEFDesign a series of dynamic digital ad templates to support the launch of multiple ongoing digital campaigns for ALDI (e.g. Special buys, Christmas, ALDI Holidays, ALDI Mobile etc.). The templates need to be flexible in both visuals and messaging to cater to various audience segments and offerings. 

PROCESSI built the dynamic creatives in ad platform, FlashTalking to deliver adaptable, brand-aligned designs with relevant messaging across different campaigns. The principles of dynamic ad creation, including data feeds, template creation, and component-based design were self-taught, alongside learning how to use FlashTalking to implement and manage these assets effectively.

RESULTSSince working on this project, over 12 million dynamic ads have been trafficked across ALDI’s digital campaigns. This process involved close collaboration with clients and media agencies to ensure the animation, creative flexibility, and overall design aligned with both the brand’s visual identity and strategic goals.
eDMs

BRIEFIntroducing ALDI Holidays...How can we use email marketing to build awareness and excitement around the launch of ALDI’s monthly holiday packages, engaging both new and existing customers?

PROCESSI designed an immersive launch eDM and flexible modular newsletter with dynamic functionality at front of mind, to ensure that future versions allow for quick changes and personalisation. I was aware that the number of holiday packages and content will change month-to-month, therefore it was necessary to design for flexibility. In both designs the animated GIF hero modules captures the audiences attention and emphasises ALDI’s ‘no-frill’ brand strategy to ensure that there was cohisiveness with their dynamic ads running simultaneously to the eDMs.

RESULTSThese eDMs have driven higher open and click-through rates, effectively boosting awareness and encourage customers to book monthly holiday packages. Since the launch, the newsletter designs have gone through several rounds of optimisation to ensure that eDM metrics continue to grow. 
MyALDI Christmas Campaign

BRIEFEvery year ALDI releases a digital Christmas Advant Calender full of mini-games and prizes for their employees on the myALDI app. It gives their team an opportunity to have some fun during their busiest months and to reward them for their hard work. We were asked to design a micro-site, re-skin the mini-games, and create both print and digital promotional material for the seasonal games.

PROCESSUtilising their Christmas branding and the constraints of the pre-existing mini-games, I collaborated with several designers and an illustrator to develop a cohesive set of visuals and UI for the mini-games. 

RESULTS
The work was well received by the ALDI team, with positive feedback and strong engagement metrics. Between December 1st and 24th, the mini-games were played 52,097 times—marking a 73.6% increase in employee participation compared to the previous year.
